Category B – Best Service Delivery Institution/Department

For government departments/institutions (local, provincial, or national spheres only) with demonstrated excellence in governance, service culture, improvements, and clean audits.

Category C – Best Implementation Project of the Year

For distinct, structured service delivery initiatives or projects. Projects must be clearly defined, legally established, with measurable outcomes, timelines, budget/costing, and impact.

Category D – Best Public Service Leader (Senior Manager) of the Year

A public servant who consistently demonstrates outstanding leadership, embodies Batho Pele values, upholds a positive workplace culture, and exceeds performance standards through initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to service excellence.

This category focuses on the further enhancement and replication of existing innovative solutions. The category seeks to showcase the importance of replication and scaling of innovation in other contexts and environment. Previous entries that can demonstrate new enhancements are welcome to enter.

Category B: Citizen-focussed Innovations harnessing non-ICT solutions

This category celebrates the innovative use of citizen-focussed non-ICT solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery at the coalface. The emphasis is on citizen benefit and what has been done to make their experience of government service pleasant, hassle free, effective and efficient.

Category C: Service delivery innovations harnessing technology

This category recognises digital transformation and the use of technology in a new way, including the application of emerging technologies such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and the innovative use of Big Data to significantly improve service delivery.
